Marcia’s nursing journey began when she was working at a bank. She decided to volunteer on Saturdays at University Medical Center Brackenridge, and immediately realized that banking was not for her, and applied to nursing school. She began working as a Patient Care Technician in Labor and Delivery at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in 2008. After graduating with her RN degree, Marcia worked in critical care in the Progressive Care Unit and in Surgical Services at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center for 5 years. She continued her education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She then took a job working hospice cases, and continued to serve critical care patients in a different capacity. In 2023, Marcia joined Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas as a peri-operative nurse, serving patients in Pre-Operative Care and Post Anesthesia Care.

Marcia was born and raised in South Texas, but has lived in Austin since 2005. She is a member if the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She lives in Austin with her husband, Brandon, and their 3 children, Jacob, Luke and Savannah. In her spare time, Marcia enjoys traveling with her family, hiking the greenbelt, volunteering at her kids’ schools, and playing mahjong.
